    Default 86 upholstery kit from Ecklers?

    Found this kit;

    https://www.ecklers.com/1983-1986-mu...ogle&utm_term=

    The color matches my interior paint color, but man....compared to TMI, it's rather....inexpensive? Good stuff or bad?

    It's Acme, I haven't heard bad things about them, but can't comment other than that. Your Mustang is a convertible correct? As the rear seat is different between the vert and a solid roof car.

    Here is a cloth kit for a coupe that is priced well too. Again different than a vert if that is what you have. https://lmr.com/item/LRS-8486STC-CR/...nyon-red-84-86

    Are you looking for a vinyl or a cloth interior?

    Want vinyl. Red, but not canyon red. The link I posted is the color I want.

    Is stock interiors good to go to order from? Really want the simple red color from the op, but want a good company and product.

    I did the TMI man made leather in my 85 GT vert about 12+ years back and it still looks like when I installed it...and it's white. I did the front seats with new foam and left the back seat alone given it was still in great shape from lack of use. If I remember it was about half the price of those kits...I just had to source the hog rings and pliers, but bought enough rings to be able to also redo the leather in the wife's 00 Excursion Limited.

    Well, was surprised to get the full interior upholstery set from stock interiors today. Red. Waiting on the front seat foam from LMR tomorrow, along with a MAP sensor....but got the rear seat removed, re-upholstered, and just now reinstalled. Looks amazing, and really excited. Being on a budget, I had to patch the dash pad and repaint it red, and repainted the interior quarters, dashboard, and door panels all red. Same with the center console. Added a gauge pod to the center console too. Car is looking awesome.

    Any advice for a first timer on reupholstering front seats?? Ha, patience? Already have a couple blisters from the back seat....

    If you have the sports seats, that thigh bolster will be difficult...not as difficult as the head rests on my leather vert seats, but a pain. If you help it along with some plastic...like from a trash bag...between the fabric and the foam, it will help alot. The seat bottoms and backs are straight forward, just place the hog rings where it keeps the skins tight.

    I have standard low back without bolsters.

    Got the driver's seat in...for some reason LMR shipped the sets of foam separately, and only had one. Other is delivered tomorrow, but I'm gone all weekend, so Monday and Tuesday the passenger will go in. Have learned a lot. But the car will have a full red interior finally.
