Written by Mike I've always wanted an '82GT. They just looked so cool & different than anything else out there at the time ( & still do ). Even way back in 1986 when I graduated from H.S. my pops helped me locate one... red with black interior... 5 speed... even had the rear hatch wiper. Well, the deal went sour when the guy backed out of the deal at the last minute. Well my lust for a 1982 Mustang GT never really wavered especially when I was SO CLOSE to owning one many moons ago.
Which brings me to present day. I never thought that I would own two Mustang's until I met Joe (EVIL8286). Meeting him rekindled my 4eye Fox Mustang love affair that I had since 1985. I fed off his lust for 4 eye Fox Mustang's & began my search for my second early Fox Mustang, the '82GT that I longed for...with his help of course. After looking at many eBay & CraigsList links I was starting to narrow it down. A Silver '82GT was on my radar that I was waiting on more pics of. It seemed like my search had finally ended. Even Joe said "here's the one". As I anticipated the pics of the silver GT, Joe nonchalantly sent me a Missouri CL link of a '81 Mustang that the owner built to resemble a '82GT. I know that this may sound cliche, but it was LOVE at first site & I had to have the car. The silver GT became a second thought as there was a delay in the response to my inquiry. So I called the owner of the red '81 & a deal was struck. What a nice guy. The transaction was quite smooth as I had never bought a car sight unseen before. But speaking to him & all his help made the deal go flawlessly. The car arrived as advertised which was witnessed by myself, Joe & Jarret (Jaz50) as they were just as excited as I was. A clean & well built 1981 Mustang that was converted to a 1982 GT lookalike with all Ford OEM parts I might add. It was just done RIGHT. I could not be any happier with the car. I was STOKED & VERY grateful to Joe for finding me this gem of a car. What a GREAT friend & fellow enthusiast. Thanks man!!
