In 1986 I was working for a good sized dealership in Renton Washington. Everyday I drove to the Ford dealer to bring cars to the body shop. I also drove through the used car section daily to see if there was anything interesting.

One day while I was driving through my jaw dropped. My dream car at that time was a 80-81 cobra black with the green graphics. This car was not black and green but everything else was “exactly” what I wanted. It had TRX’s, V-8, Recaro’s T-tops etc. and only had 45,000 miles on it. I was so excited that I blocked the car in and then ran to the showroom. I went in grabbed the keys and drove it back to my dealership and hid it in the lot with the cars for service. I put a sold sign in it and called my dad at work. Begged for a few minutes and he loved it too! Needless to say 24 years ago I traded in my 1982 - 2.3 Mustang GL for a 1981 Cobra.

The only things I have done to it are normal wear and tear items and also put on dual exhaust. In 1992 I told myself I will keep this car forever, I said I would park it at 100k miles. It turned over on my way to the dealership to buy a new pickup. It has stayed in my garage since then and has 101,000 miles on it. The 255 engine still run’s like new!
