Recent years have shown an increase in the number of vintage Early Fox race cars participating in vintage racing. This stands to reason as enough years have passed that our beloved Foxes are becoming vintage special-interest cars. Various race cars, or at least some of their parts, have started to surface here and there after having seemingly disappeared over the years. Often overlooked is the fact that as soon as Early Foxes were being produced, they were being raced in a wide variety of series all over the world. Fast Four Eyes were a common sight at nearly any track event.
We don't have any additional information on this 1979 IMSA Ford Mustang, but its flares certainly resemble that of the 1980 IMSA Mustang. All we know is what this video and other similar videos offer in the caption: it's the 1979 Polito Ford IMSA Mustang. We'll try to hunt this car down and find out details in the future. This is a great looking, great sounding car. It is getting some proper workout time on the track and we're always happy to see such a thing.
We are pretty excited for Julie's 84, the FEP Forums, and the four eyed mustangs for this exciting win. The American Muscle Car Show was held in Media, Pa. near Philadelphia August 11 2013. What a huge event with many vendors, celebrities, and mustangs from classic to brand new, 1400 mustangs entered in the show and I bet another 500 that were not registered had their own show in regular parking. If anyone is considering going it is very well organized with host hotels, Chip Foose stayed at our hotel and it was fun to hang out with all of the other mustang owners on Saturday night at the hotel. Here are just a few highlights:
It took us about 18 months to finish this car and we worked with some great and talented guys along the way. My wife and I could not be happier with the outcome. It is a blast to cruise in. I even like the 4r70w auto..makes it an easy cruiser. Yes we have taken it to a few shows and won some awards which is cool, but we have more fun ripping around the streets of New England in it.
and yes she does let me drive it often..!!! I probably drive it more, but it is cool when she drives it and I can kick back and enjoy...
