FourEyedPride.com is excited to bring you a pre-production preview of GMP's latest FourEyed offering: the 85 Twister II. GMP may be the only die cast model company to have given such attention to the FourEyed Mustang era. They have previously produced 2 different 1986 IMSA Mustangs, an 84 SVO, an 86 SVO, a black 85 Mustang GT, and an 85 CHP coupe as well as many other later Fox Mustangs. Now they will be bringing further joy to those of us who are FourEyed enthusiasts with two 85 Twister IIs. The 85 Twister II we received for reviewing was Jalapeña Red, but there will be a second color, Oxford White, available.

GMP's attention to detail is readily apparent upon initial inspection of the model. The paint is not just any generic red paint they found, but truly Jalapeña Red. The trim, headlight buckets, and hoodstripe are not just grey (or the often mis-judged black), but are, in fact, Charcoal. You'll enjoy discovering all the details, from the Marchal logos on the foglights to the tiny Ford oval in the steering wheel.

If you've purchased their black 85 GT from a couple of years ago, you'll be pleased to find they've made improvements in the interior colors, GT logo on the hood and some of the underhood details. This 85 Twister II will not disappoint.

Let's not forget what makes this a truly special model: It's an 85 Mustang GT Twister II! In 1985, Ford paid homage to a Kansas City-specific legend, the 1970 Twister Special, and a second legend was born. Although most commonly seen in Jalapeña Red hatchback form, the Twister II was available in other GT colors, one of which would be Oxford White, and convertible Twister IIs were made. Only 90 cars were produced, making them yet another seldom-seen special edition of early Fox Mustangs.

The graphics on the outside of this car, just like the full-scale originals, make it plainly obvious that this isn't just another 85 GT. The Twister II graphics have been wonderfully reproduced on this 1:18 scale model, right down to the dust clouds the 'toon Twister is kicking up. Be sure to open up the passenger side door and take a look at the miniature reproduction dash plaque! FourEyed enthusiasts will delight in the details.

Fortunately, the production of these Twister II models is not limited to just 90. However, with a production run of 1000 models with half being Jalapeña Red and the other half Oxford White you may want to go ahead and pre-order yours soon.
